Welcome to My Portfolio

Hi, I'm Emma Parry. I'm a producer, first assistant director, and writer based in New York City.

I grew up in Los Angeles, came east for NYU, and never left! I earned my BFA in Film & Television Production there, and these 5 years later I'm still in love with the film scene and emerging artists here.

On the production side, I've produced music videos for Gravel and Echo Productions, 1st AD'd the documentary crew covering the 75th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, and worked with World of Wonder Productions, Filmedea, and Advanced Digital Services. I've picked up a healthy respect for spreadsheets along the way, and an even healthier respect for the mesmerizing directors I've had the pleasure of collaborating with!

I'm especially drawn to stories centering women that accentuate the ambivalence, messiness, and mundanity of life. I love working in sci-fi, action, and episodic formats. As of now, though they're of course ever-changing, my favorite films are City of God, The Worst Person in the World, and The Apartment.​​​

I'm an award-winning and published writer supporting myself through contests and commissions. Writing poetry, short stories, stage plays, and screenplays is my way of processing life through my art. My work has appeared in magazines, journals, a few NYU thesis projects, as well as festival-award-winning short films.
